Our bodies store a history of our life since the day we were conceived.
Every muscle, joint and nerve signal responds to everything that ever happened to us. It is often referred to as “body memory”. This memory will define how we will perceive life and our future too. Body and soul are connected and yet we learn to separate them since we are very young.
We say: “my body”, “my hand” as if it belongs to us, as if this is not part of us. Each trauma we experience separates us from the body more and more till finally makes us numb. Trauma is not necessarily some devastating life events. These can be such unavoidable things like birth, becoming adult, relationships with other people, death of a loved one. We use disconnection as anesthetic not to feel emotional or physical pain because it works! However, this also steals from us joy, emotional and sensual pleaser, we lose the taste for life till the day we stop feeling being alive.
Luckily our bodies are very forgiving. As soon as we start asking right questions, pay attention to it, it starts releasing tensions you were not aware of for years. This is how you know therapy works. One day you wake up and a quick thought goes through your mind: “I AM. I am alive. I am happy”
