We are unique in that way that our needs are constantly changing. What worked yesterday might not be working today. Therefore, there are different ways we can work with our emotions and sensations.
Everyone can gain from reflecting on their lives and improving their coping skills however therapy is particularly beneficial to those who feel they have a particular problem and need another perspective. Especially when you are feeling stuck or life situation seems impossible to change, or you have to deal with traumatic events. If you feel you can not rely on your friends and family for an unbiased perspective, or you’ve tried talking to them and it hasn’t helped.
Whatever the reason may be that you are feeling stuck, a therapist can be a great resource for finding a new angle on things that allows you to grow and move forward. Therapists give you something you don’t get from your family, your friends or even yourself: a neutral relationship with no personal history. This relationship gives you an outside perspective you can use to find a new way of looking at things and build insight into your life.
Our first session will be a one-hour conversation where we can get to know one another, identify your priorities and see what therapy can do for you. Then we decide what approach will suit your needs for the start. We will be flexible in the process and have opportunity to change those approaches when your needs change. We will then create a schedule for your 50 minute sessions to work through the various areas that you wish to heal and develop. Ideally, we will meet same day of the week at the same time.
Together we will work towards creating atmosphere of comfort and trust in which we will discover your feelings, emotions, thoughts, memories, desires, attitude to self and others. Between sessions I might give you some tasks. Sessions can be delivered personally or via video calls. Usually meetings take place once a week. However, if you feel that more support is needed, we can always discuss it. You can regulate the length of your therapy. For this, every session we will start with checking in with your goals to make sure we are moving in the right direction. As soon as you feel your goals are accomplished we will have our final meeting – the most beautiful and valuable experience of finishing our journey together. To start working with me, please send me a message to book our first free 15 – min conversation to discuss your needs. And if I feel I can help you we can book our first meeting.
Group therapy is good for anyone who is willing to examine their life in a circle of like-minded. It’s biggest value is that it gives us understanding that we are not alone in this world with the same problem. Group therapy can be themed or not. Usually we feel relived meeting people who have similar struggles. We learn to share our feelings with the others and just the fact of being seen and heard has great healing potential. Group sessions also give you an opportunity to support someone else’s healing process – very encouraging and empowering experience! You are not alone any more. You are surrounded by other souls giving each other hope and support.
Group sessions is a great source of finding your own voice, discover your desires and own a right to have them. Group teaches you build relationship with yourself and the others. It gives you safe environment where you are needed, supported and accepted the way you are. Face to face group session and online group sessions are a bit different. Usually with respect to frequency of meetings and their durations. All group meetings are “closed”. It means that after 2 – 3 session new participants new members are not added so that we could work in a very safe and supporting atmosphere.
I facilitate semi-themed groups. Usually the theme is announced beforehand but I am supporting any emerging situations participants might have that seem unrelated to the original topic.
Length of group meetings is identified in each unique case. General framework looks like this:
• Weekly face-to-face group last between 2 – 3 hours
• Monthly face-to-face group last between 2 – 3 days.
• Online therapeutic groups last between 6 – 10 weekly session 2.5 hours each.
When working on-line, before the first meeting we have a brief session to help each participant make sure connection works followed by a short introduction from me. During online group session, all participants simultaneously see and hear each other. This type of therapy is beneficial for people who can’t participate in offline groups for various reasons: health conditions, travelling time, etc.
To become a member of an online/offline group session, please subscribe to the email list to be announced about the next group.
